Ice Cube has suggested that the NBA is 'working against' his Big3 league - while being displeased with the lack of media attention it has received in recent years.

In a video posted to his Twitter page on Sunday evening, the American rapper-turned-actor accused the league and major media outlets of excluding the Big3.

He said: "Some of you may not have realized that I'm not part of the club. And a lot of you listening to me right here and right now, you are not part of the club either.

"And what I realized with the club is, what makes them so mad is when you don't want to be a part of the f****** club. That pisses them off. What club am I talking about? I'm talking about the club of gatekeepers that we all got to deal with. You know who they are and they definitely know who they are.

"Now, a lot of people might say, 'But, Cube, we want to work with the NBA.' Really, I don't give a f*** about working with the NBA.

"What I want them to do, when I say 'Work with us,' is to stop working against us. And that's cool, we can do it ourselves, you know what I'm saying?"

It is not the first time that the former NWA rapper has voiced his displeasure with the league, already having words for the commissioner Adam Silver.

Last week, Ice Cube, real name O'Shea Jackson, said on The Dan LeBatard Show: "Really, I think it comes down to Adam Silver. I just don't think he really digs what we're doing, personally."

The Big3 has been running since 2017 and was covered substantially when it first launched - with former first-overall draft pick Kwame Brown playing. In recent years, the league has seen former NBA stars such as Chauncey Billups, Nate Robinson, Nick Young and Josh Smith suit up.

Meanwhile, Basketball Hall of Famers Julius Erving, George Gervin and Gary Payton have all had stints in the league.

The league does not have any business dealings with the NBA, despite Cube insinuating that he has attempted to work with them in the past.

In the United States, CBS will once again cover the Big3 as they head into their sixth season.
