ABC7 journalist Ken Rosato has broken his silence more than one month after being fired from WABCTV for an alleged "hot-mic remark" while off-air.

Ken, 56, was fired from his position after an inappropriate comment was allegedly picked up on his microphone.

The journalist, who is best known for being at the helm of Eyewitness News This Morning, was fired at the start of May, according to reports.

At the time, reports stated that Ken made an unseemly remark which was picked up "on an open mic" and resulted in him losing his job "immediately".

But now Ken has broken his social media silence, although completely avoiding anything to do with the incident.

Sharing a snap of himself and his dad for the Father's Day, Ken penned: "Happy Father's Day to the man who means everything to me.

"I'm blessed to have him with me still. I love you Dad," he concluded in the caption.

Fans flocked to the comments section, with many saying how they missed Ken on their screens.

"Wish you were still on 7. You added a certain class to it," penned one.

"The mornings are not the same," added a second, with a third writing: "Miss watching you! I don't watch ABC anymore."

A fourth person then noted how they miss Ken's "positive energy" in the morning, while a fifth said they were "so happy" to see him again.

This rare social media post marks the first time that Ken has posted on Instagram since he was said to be fired by the network.

At the time of the alleged hot mic incident, Ken's comment was picked up and subsequently heard, with him "immediately let go", according to Page Six.

The outlet then went on to claim that the news reporter's colleagues were notified of his departure on Friday (May 13), with them told "one-by-one".

An email was also sent to staff, with it reportedly stating that Ken is "no longer with WABC. We thank him for his years of service".

Page Six also reported that a "racial slur" might have been uttered by the anchor, although Ken's representative has slammed and denied the claims.

His representative has told other outlets: "Being fired for any racial slur is 100 percent inaccurate and untrue.

"Ken Rosato had a benchmark of 20 years at WABC of supporting all equality."

Meanwhile, the US Sun reported that he was fired for using an offensive word while he was "off-air".

The paper reported that an insider said: "It was the C word that got him fired."
