Take That have responded to rumours Jason Orange could make a shock return to the band.

There has always been talks of Robbie Williams making his return to the band for special events, but less is spoken about if Jason might reunite with the group one day, which is currently made up of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald.

As the pair prepare for the movie, based on a musical about their songs, to be released, there were quizzed by Good Morning Britain's Richard Arnold on whether Jason - or even Robbie - might come back to the band one day.

Asked about the possibility, Gary held out hope saying: "That's the unanswered question. When the time's right, it'll happen."

Mark also seemed hopeful, adding: "I don't know, I'm not sure. We all hope one day it'll happen. It wouldn't surprise me if it does happen, and it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't happen," but Howard said the chance was less in his eyes, as he added: "Five of us? Oh there's only three of us now! I don't think Jason ever, maybe possibly Robbie, but not Jason I don't think."

The trio reunited to perform at the Coronation concert earlier this year.

Gary teased at the time ahead of their performance: "We were really honoured to be asked to take part, it’s a huge moment in our country’s history. This will be the first show we’ve done as Take That since our Odyssey Tour, four years ago in 2019.

"What a stage to come back on. We’re keeping a lot of it under wraps, but we have a huge live band, orchestra and choir, plus the backdrop of the beautiful Windsor Castle - we can’t wait."

The group previously spoke out on Jason's decision to leave the band.

"I think he felt he didn’t want to do it any more," Mark explained, "But I’m not going to speak for him.

"He's still here anyway. The other day we were trying to work out who the best joke-teller in the band is and remembered how Jason always laughed before he got to the punchline."
