If you fancy being the next James Bond, you might need a Licence to Drill.

MI5 is on a mission to recruit a DI-spy for Oddjobs at the secret service’s London HQ.

And, like 007, played by Daniel Craig until 2021, they must be handy – but in carpentry, plastering and electrics rather than fighting and driving fast cars.

A source said: “It’s a job for Britain’s toughest handyman – or woman. These kind of behind-the-scenes roles are vital to the service’s optimum performance.”

To qualify for the £37,000 job, which has an 18-month training programme, you need a City & Guilds level 3, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent in joinery or carpentry.

Recruits must spend at least two hours in the gym each week and will also get to work with other partner bodies, possibly overseas.

But the source warned: “The uniform probably won’t extend to a tuxedo – and there’s no chance of a Martini on the job.”
