A woman has faced a backlash online after complaining about her husband's plan to attend a funeral she's been excluded from.
The upset partner took to Reddit to explain why she feels devastated at the situation. But people were quick to take her husband's side when she explained the reason she'd been 'excluded' from his friend's funeral.
In her post, the woman shared that both she and her husband have been grieving the tragic death. Unfortunately, she's unable to attend his funeral, as she is 'not on good terms with his widow.' While responders were quick to say they were sorry for her loss, they felt more sympathy for his widow - and understood her response.

In her divisive post, the woman explained she's not on speaking terms with her late friend's fiance. "We don't get along," she wrote. "The biggest blowup I had with her was after I posted health updates about Joe on my personal social media account. I thought this was normal since we have lots of mutual friends but she clearly had an issue with it. She called me names then blocked me."
Her post continued: "Now the funeral is going to be in 2 days. I just found out I got excluded by her. My husband is still going which I found unfair and quite devastating. I didn't wanna miss Joe's funeral but can't do anything about it now. I did tell my husband that I expect him to stay home and not go after I got excluded.

"He snapped and said what I was expecting was unfair and that whatever 'petty' fight between me and Joe's widow was none of his concern. I told him that I'm his wife and he should stand by me especially when I'm being treated like this but he said it wasn't his problem."
She concluded: "Now we're not speaking because of it. Some mutual friends are siding with me. Others think Joe's widow created this situation to begin with."
However, commenters were quick to defend the widow in light of the circumstances. Out of the thousand-plus responses prompted by the post, one of the most-liked comments said: "I'd be furious too if a non-relative posted health updates about my husband on social media without asking either of us first. Someone's personal health struggles aren't your issues to use to get clout or sympathy." They added: "She's the one who now has to navigate life without her husband. Her needs come first in this scenario."
Meanwhile, someone else thought: "Everyone asking the wife for updates could definitely be tough for her - she has enough to deal with. But if the [original poster] wanted to take that off her plate, the proper thing would have been to ask if she wanted that help, and constrain the updates to the relevant audience. Posting that information without permission to social media really just looks like the [original poster] was trying to garner sympathy for herself."
