Online marketplaces, including the likes of Vinted and eBay, have arisen in popularity in recent years as savvy money savers seek to make extra cash on their pre-loved clothing.

Most account holders will offer their clothes at extremely discounted prices, but this isn't always the case.

Britney Watts - who has been slammed by trolls for charging 'absolutely absurd' prices for second-hand Primark clothing - defended her option of charging £20 for a vest top.

The TikTok user - who posts under @britneywatts04 - captioned her video, which has surpassed 42,000 views to date, writing: "Definitely the worst offer I have ever received on Vinted."

The TikToker detailed how a customer had approached her to request a bundle of nine items for a discounted price.

She explained: "It should come to about £86.40 with my bundle discounts on, but I received a message.

"It said, 'hey I know it's a stretch but I was just wondering if you would do this bundle for £20?'

"Are people serious?! This person has 4/5 star reviews which concerns me."

Britney went on: "One of the items they've added is worth £25 - that's what I have it listed as. And you want all of them for £20?

"I'm sorry, it's baffled me. Some people and their offers on Vinted - yes, fair enough I understanding you asking. If you don't ask you don't get.

"But honestly, the nerve!" She added.

Since sharing, Britney's video has raked in over 70 comments to date - with several people jumping to the defence of the Vinted buyer.

Taking to the comment section, one person wrote: "Don't agree with the offer but you're selling a Primark vest top on Vinted for £20 overpriced to say the least."

Britney responded: "Don't agree with the offer but you're selling a Primark vest top on Vinted for £20 overpriced to say the least."

"The funny thing is with my prices I get people buying items off me to resale On depop you have someone selling a blue atmosphere vest for £28!"

Responding further, fellow TikTok users weren't convinced with the decision - with one person saying: "Not all convinced - yeah, that's absolutely absurd."

A second agreed: "I've read it and still believe it's absurd for Primark and Asda pieces no matter how old but respect the hustle."

On the other hand, a different social media user penned: "People are so cheeky on Vinted ahahaha."
