FM23 on PS5 finally has a confirmed release date, and it's right around the corner! And to make up for the delay, prospective players can bag 20% off when it hits the PlayStation Store.
Having originally been scheduled for release in November 2022, only for the launch to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, Football Manager 23 Console on PS5 now has a confirmed release date of Wednesday, February 1, 2023, with the game set to go live at 3pm GMT / 10am ET / 7am PT.
And the good news doesn't stop there. It's also been confirmed by Sega and Sports Interactive that FM23 Console on PS5 will launch with a 20% discount for all PlayStation Plus subscribers, which will be redeemable until Tuesday, February 14 at 3pm GMT / 10am ET / 7am PT. This discount is identical to the one players were offered as a pre-order incentive, before the delayed launch was announced.
Because all pre-orders for the FM23 PS5 edition were cancelled on the PS Storefront when the delay was confirmed, and as FM23 Console Edition isn't getting a physical release at retailers, you will have to re-order your copy on the PS Store if you want to play it on PS5 on launch day.
“We’re delighted with today’s update that we’re finally going to be able to get FM23 Console into the hands of PS5 gamers," said Miles Jacobson, Sports Interactive’s studio director.

"Since the initial delay, the team at Sports Interactive and our colleagues at SEGA have worked tirelessly with Sony to overcome the issues and we’re pleased to now have a release candidate ready to launch next week.
“While it's unusual for us to release a game during a major football transfer window, our priority from the moment our initial launch was postponed was to get the game into the hands of PS5 gamers as quickly as possible.
"Once all the global transfer windows are closed, we will provide a data update for the PS5 edition in line with the updates for all of our other platforms.”
The Xbox Series X|S edition of FM23 Console was released as planned on November 8, 2022, the same day as the full PC and Mac versions. Football Manager 2023 Touch was also released on this date, allowing Nintendo Switch and for the first time ever, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV users, to play the game on these devices.
FM23 features a number of new innovations this year including a Recruitment Revamp, new Match AI and Animation, UEFA licence, Supporter Confidence, Dynamic Manager Timeline and much more.
