Oleksandr Usyk continues Tyson Fury "eating" call-out as fight talks continue

Oleksandr Usyk has continued his calling out of Tyson Fury for an undisputed fight later this year, referring to his fellow heavyweight champion as "belly".

The two champions appear to be on the verge of signing for a fight in the middle of April after a number of delays, with both men now actively engaging in pre-fight promotion on social media. Usyk, known as a more stoic individual despite his quick wit, has taken to Instagram to share a new video mocking Fury, referring to him as "belly" and declaring that they will fight.

Usyk is the smaller man heading into the first undisputed heavyweight title fight of the four-belt era, and has declared that he will "eat" Fury. He shared a video on Twitter yesterday showing himself eating a burger and drinking a bottle of coke, captioning it "belly, you next".

"Belly. Look what I'm eating," Usyk says in his limited English, directing the video at Fury. "Yum, yum, yum. You're next." He later shared an Instagram story where he reposted a meme from a fan showing how others see his rival as the boxer he is, but he sees him as a burger.

Fury has taken to referring to Usyk as a middleweight, and referred to him as a rabbit in a recent callout. “Tyson Fury here, WBC heavyweight No.1," he said in an Instagram message towards his rival. "Usyk, calling out ‘The Gypsy King’ with your pathetic little call-outs, dosser. Rabbit, I’m coming for you, rabbit, you’re getting it, rabbit.

"And I’ll tell you what else, I’m gonna bust you up real bad, you little middleweight. I’m going to slap you into a big pile of tattoos, sucker. Come on!" The video was accompanied by the caption: “This is the call out Oleksandr Usyk. Middleweight. I AM COMING FOR YOU. #RunRabbitRun. You know who I am. The Gypsy King. There’s only ever been one. Come get some!”

Fury was on holiday with his family until last week when he returned to Morecambe, where he will train for the undisputed fight. Promoters have said that it's likely to land in the Middle East for a major site fee, but could end up at Wembley Stadium if the economics don't work for the Brit.

He and Usyk have both defeated top heavyweights Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua respectively on two occasions to earn their belts. The Ukrainian is a former undisputed cruiserweight world champion, while Fury has held every heavyweight belt and never lost any of them in the ring.

Fury most recently defended his belt in a tune-up fight against Derek Chisora, after which he and Usyk had their first head-to-head at the side of the ring. The Brit decided to lambast his rival, while Usyk opted to take a more measured approach and simply stare down Fury.
