Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated as the 47th US President later on today as he is sworn into the White House.
The former reality star and businessman, 78, will return to office four years after his previous stint, and has promised to make a slew of executive orders during his first few days in office.
Yesterday, he said he would also release classified documents in the coming days related to the assassinations of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert Kennedy and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
He made a similar promise during his 2017 to 2021 term, releasing some documents related to JFK’s murder in 1953.
But he ultimately bowed to pressure from the US Central Intelligence Agency and Federal Bureau of Investigation, and kept a significant chunk of documents under wraps, citing national security concerns.
What time does Donald Trump’s inauguration start in the UK?
The inauguration will begin at 5pm GMT in the UK (12pm EST), with Vice President-elect JD Vance taking the oath of office, followed by Donald Trump.
