Jesse Plemons stunned fans with his dramatic weight loss on the Oscars red carpet alongside his wife Kirsten Dunst.
The 35-year-old actor was at the Academy Awards on Sunday night in Hollywood as his movie Killers of the Flower Moon was up for 10 awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress for his co-star Lily Gladstone. However, the critically acclaimed movie failed to win any awards, as Christopher Nolan’s atomic epic swept the board at the 96th annual ceremony.
As Kirsten and Jesse arrived on the red carpet to pose for waiting photographers, onlookers were gobsmacked by the Fargo star’s incredible transformation, as he looked slim in a dapper tuxedo alongside his gorgeous wife. While the 41-year-old rocked an elegant white square-neck Gucci gown and an impressive display of Fred Leighton jewellery, many were distracted by Jesse’s new look.

“Where’s the rest of him,” one fan tweeted, as another commented: “He’s lost a ton of weight.” His weight loss was described as a “transformation” by one stunned fan, as another admitted he “looked so different now.” However, Jesse’s diehard fans were quick to leapt to his defence and called out those who had only just noticed how handsome he was. “Ya’ll have been sleeping on Jesse. He always looks good he just gains weight for roles sometimes but this is what he looks like,” one wrote.
Killers of the Flower Moon is now streaming, here’s how to watch at home“He left some of him home,” another joked, as one agreed: “Lordy, he doesn't even look like himself. Wow.” Some cruel trolls speculated he had been taking the diabetes management drug Ozempic, which has been favoured by some Hollywood stars for helping with dramatic weight loss. “That Ozempic hitting our man way too hard,” one claimed.
Jesse’s weight loss could be down to his latest project Zero Day, which is a new Netflix conspiracy thriller series that will see him reunited with his Killers of the Flower Moon co-star Robert De Niro. The series, which also stars Angela Bassett, Joan Allen, Lizzy Caplan and Matthew Modine, sees Jesse play the bodyguard of the former President of the United States, who is forced to come out of retirement to help battle a world crisis.
Jesse and Kirsten also encountered more drama on the Oscars red carpet, as the Bring It On star almost fell on her face as she was posing for the cameras. In a video shared on social media, she can be seen walking along the red carpet while looking back at her husband, but as she holds out her arm to stand alongside Jesse, she tripped and stumbled into the huge Oscars statue behind her. Luckily the couple, who tied the knot in July 2022, saw the funny side, and managed to laugh off the Spider-Man star’s near-miss.
