Summer just got the ultimate upgrade as Coca-Cola confirms the re-launch of one of its most iconic fizzy drinks.

A cold can of Coke never fails to hit the spot when the sun breaks through - but one particular flavoured was axed back in 2006, and fans never really got over it. However, supermarkets across the nation will now start stocking the 'legendary' Coca-Cola Lemon.

Available in both 'zero sugar' and original variants, shoppers can also order a 24-pack straight from Coca-Cola's website for as little as £12.50 (around 52p a can). For the full-sugared version, you'll have to pay a couple of quid more - at 62p per can.

The drinks will be available in stores in 330ml, 500ml, 2L, 8x 330ml and 150ml singles formats. Retailers will be able to decide their own pricing - but hopefully, you'll see some bargain introductory offers in the coming days.

"We're thrilled to be able to meet consumer demand by expanding our flavours portfolio with the inclusion of Coca-Cola Lemon – it's quite literally happiness in a bottle!" said Laura Moon of Coca-Cola. "We're consistently considering new variations and would encourage eagle-eyed Coca-Cola fans to watch this space for more."

The launch follows years of petitioning from fans, who have been desperate to get their hands on the axed flavour. People have even resorted to adding lemon juice to their Coke to try and replicate the taste. But now, they can just crack open a can of Coca-Cola lemon and relax.

"Oh my god, this was my favourite," one thrilled Facebook user wrote following the announcement. Another wrote: "Loved this stuff." While a third added: " No more putting lemon juice in Coca-Cola!" Even those too young to remember seeing the flavour in the shelves couldn't wait to try it - with one user stating: "I bet these are nice."
