Kate Garraway's close pal Myleene Klass has paid tribute to Derek Draper with a touching post a day after his funeral.
The 45-year-old singer and TV presenter took to her Instagram page on Saturday to share an emotional video of the Good Morning Britain star holding her husband close as they danced together. In the caption of the clip, she wrote: "Till you're dancing together again. Derek Draper, RIP. Your wife and children did you proud.
Derek sadly died on January 5, with wife Kate announcing the news to the world via social media. The former lobbyist was admitted to hospital after suffering from a heart attack in December, where he was supported by his family and friends as they stood at his bedside. Derek contracted Coronavirus back in March 2020 and struggled with his health for over three years. He'd spent a year in hospital after first testing positive for the disease.
Announcing the news of her husband's sudden passing, Kate wrote: "Derek was surrounded by his family in his final days and I was by his side holding his hand throughout the last long hours and when he passed. I have so much more to say, and of course I will do so in due course, but for now I just want to thank all the medical teams who fought so hard to save him and to make his final moments as comfortable and dignified as possible. Sending so much love and thanks to all of you who have so generously given our family so much support. Rest gently and peacefully now Derek, my love, I was so lucky to have you in my life."
On Friday, February 2, a slew of celebs and close pals of the former lobbyist paid their respects to Derek Draper as he was laid to rest. Kate's GMB Britain's colleagues attended the church where they said their final goodbyes and shared their condolences to Kate.

In 2020, Mylene gushed over best pal Kate and described the TV star as an 'incredible' woman. She said: "She's been incredible. I don't know what it feels like to walk in her shoes, but I do know what it feels like to be a mum, alone and vulnerable, without all the answers. You need your friends and you need heaps of practical support.
When asked if she has 'hard days', Myleene confessed that she does, but has been inspired by her friend Kate to always remain positive in times of hardship. "Of course I do! Everyone does. I am generally a pretty positive person but you'd have to be indelible not to let things in. I think the main thing is to try to remember 'this too shall pass.
