Three Kansas City Chiefs fans found dead at a property where they had attended a party had three times the lethal amount of fentanyl.
An autopsy on the trio has shown David Harrington, Clayton McGeeney and Ricky Johnson, who were found dead outside the home of Jordan Willis in Kansas City on January 9, has found large traces of fentanyl and cocaine in their systems. Reports indicate there was three times the lethal amount of fentanyl in their systems at the time of their death.
All three men were found dead around the outside of the property as police tried to contact property owner Willis, who has since checked himself in to drugs rehab, his parents say.
Willis has since checked into a rehab centre, his parents said (Github)An unnamed source close to the family said "cocaine, fentanyl, and THC showed up in the preliminary results." The family relayed the find through Alex Caprariello on Twitter /X, who added: "The family source says level 10 fentanyl is enough to kill. The #KansasCity3 were at level 30." The NewsNation correspondent claims it is backed by a "second, separate family source".
A police spokesperson added: "There have been no additional details of this case revealed to any media, nor are there any plans to at this time. The case remains an ongoing death investigation." Tom Kagay, attorney for McGeeney's family, says the report is "just the first step" in finding out what happened to the men at the party.

He said: "I don’t think that anyone familiar with this situation or this investigation thought that there wasn’t something else in play here and I think that the toxicology report is going to be the first step on many steps in the investigation as to who is responsible for these men’s tragic deaths. If fentanyl was involved, which I don’t know at this point, then obviously … it’s a scourge, and it turns recreational drug use into a lethal situation."
It comes as Harrington's parents believe Willis had some involvement in the deaths of the three men, alleging he played a part in the deaths. Police confirmed the deaths were not being investigated as homicides and no foul play was detected, the New York Post reported. Harrington's father, Jon, said: "[Harrington’s mother] and I are both convinced that Jordan Willis played a part in this somehow. There were four of you in the house and now three of them are dead and you’re not. That doesn’t add up."
Willis' attorney has since told police he "did nothing wrong" and had no idea his friends were dead on the property until police attended the scene. Willis, a scientific researcher, had seen his friends leave the home before heading to bed. Autopsies could take several weeks to confirm the cause of deaths, a medical examiner has said.
