Sony and Square Enix have confirmed that another PlayStation State of Play, focusing exclusively on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be airing next week.
While this week's PlayStation State of Play was jam packed with news, one game that I noticed was surprisingly absent as I watched the finale of the event cover Death Stranding 2 was Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The follow-up to 2020's Final Fantasy 7 Remake was the one game I was certain we'd see and yet, it didn't appear.
However, straight after the event ended, PlayStation's Shawne Benson appeared to announce that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was absent because it's getting it's own dedicated PlayStation State of Play presentation next week. Here's what you need to know.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PlayStation State of Play – start time and how to watch
The Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth State of Play start time is confirmed as 11:30pm GMT / 6:30pm EST / 3:30pm PST on Tuesday, February 6 and is set to be an 'extended look' according to a post by Sony on Twitter
The event will be available to watch on the official PlayStation YouTube, and Twitch channels, which are linked below:

All of these platforms will be streaming the event at the same time, so there's no need to worry about which version you pick. And of course, you'll be able to watch the event on-demand if you're unable to make it to the live stream.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PlayStation State of Play – what to expect
Details are slim on what exactly will be in the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth State of Play. The short vignette at the end of the PlayStation State of Play earlier this week claimed that Square Enix will show "new gameplay details" and "exciting news you won't want to miss". So it's safe to assume some of the things that we'll see.
Undoubtedly we'll be getting a gameplay trailer, perhaps to show off some of the new playable characters available in Rebirth (like Cait Sith, Sephiroth, and Red 13), and I'd be shocked if we don't get one last cinematic story trailer to hold us over until February 29, 2024 when the game is set to launch.
My bold prediction is that we'll get a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo following the event. Considering Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Final Fantasy 16 both had pre-release demos, I think it's safe to guess that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be no different. But we'll see for sure once the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth State of Play concludes next week.
