Sony has confirmed the first PlayStation State of Play presentation of 2024 will be happening this week, confirming the rumours that surfaced over the weekend.

It's almost time for the first Playstation State of Play of 2024; after rumours of a presentation featuring the likes of Death Stranding 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth arriving earlier this week, Sony has officially confirmed that we will see a PlayStation State of Play on Wednesday, January 31.

The event is set to give us a peek at the upcoming action games Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade, as well as titles for PS5 and PSVR2 coming in 2024 (and maybe even a few that are further off). Here's everything you need to know about the PlayStation State of Play January 2024 presentation.

PlayStation State of Play January 2024 – start time and how to watch

The PlayStation State of Play January 2024 start time is confirmed as 10pm GMT / 5pm EST / 2pm PST on Wednesday, January 31 and is set to run for over 40 minutes according to a post by Sony on the PlayStation Blog.

The event will be available to watch on the official PlayStation YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok channels, which are linked below:

All of these platforms will be streaming the event at the same time, so there's no need to worry about which version you pick. And of course, you'll be able to watch the event on-demand if you're unable to make it to the live stream. Mirror Gaming will also be streaming the event live, so you can check out our first reactions as the event happens on the Mirror Gaming YouTube channel from 10pm GMT / 5pm EST / 2pm PST on Wednesday, January 31.

PlayStation State of Play January 2024 – what to expect

Sony has only confirmed that we will see extended looks at the upcoming action games Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, as well as "new look at other titles coming to PS5 and PS VR2 in 2024 and beyond". However, some rumours about the event may have clued us in on what else to expect.

Warning: this section contains discussion of leaks, which possibly include the whole show, so if you want to be fully surprised, read no further.

Rumours about the PlayStation State of Play January 2024 event arrived earlier in the week, and based on what leaks are saying, these could be some of the titles included at the event:

If this is true, then we'd expect the event to end with a new look at Death Stranding 2, which hasn't been seen since its reveal at The Game Awards 2022. But, we'll have to watch the full event to find out for sure.
