A takeaway meal feels like a much-needed reward after a tiring week, but one woman has shared how you can save your pennes with this simple at-home pizza recipe.
Savvy cook Mistie has left people mind-blown with her genius hack on how to make a deep-dish pizza from her kitchen - and what surprised many people was the fact she used a slow cooker instead of a conventional oven.
In a video shared to her TikTok account @mistieknight, the content creator is seen cramming the pizza dough inside the kitchen appliance and rolling up the sides to make the deep dish crush as well as adding the toppings of her choice. She adds pizza sauce, cheese, red and green pepper, red onion, mushrooms, and turkey for a meaty twist.
Mistie revealed she had bought a pre-made dough to help save time on making the recipe. She said: "I'm just using the jarred sauce and the pre-made dough because I'm showing you an easy version.
"But you could always make it from scratch if you want. Then we're gonna top that with some turkey sausage, cause as I said, we're trying to make this a little bit lighter and healthier."
Viral sausage roll debate leaves Brits confused about how to order at GreggsShe then finishes her recipe with some crushed garlic and melted butter and spreads it over the top of the crust. Mistie told her followers that the pizza would take roughly one to two hours to be fully prepared, depending on the size of a person's slow cooker.
You'll know that it's ready when the crust is golden. She said: "You get a nice golden brown crust. This was delicious. Your slow cooker is going to surprise you."
However, her followers were left divided, with some saying that it would be quicker to make the pizza in an oven. One person replied: "That whole thing would take 15 minutes in the oven." A second person added: "Now, who's going to wait 2 hours for that small pizza? Nobody!!!"
A third person chimed in: "Why 3 hours in pot when oven dish 35 min in oven. you people use lots of electricity unnec [sic]." A fourth person said: "You could stick it on a baking sheet in the oven for 15 minutes and have pizza already... why the hell do people use a crock pot for things like this?"
