If you're the member of the household tasked with cleaning the greasy air fryer, then it's safe to say you've drawn the short straw - but there's an 11p staple that could change all that.
Air fryers have made cooking so much easier, as you can just bung most things in for a short amount of time and they'll come out perfectly tasty, crispy, and delicious - but they can be a serious pain to clean. Scrubbing away all the grease can be majorly time-consuming, but when one woman took to the Mrs Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook group for advice, many people shared a seriously cheap hack with her.
The woman penned: "Can anyone recommend a product to clean my Ninja air fryer? It's got lots of stuck-on sticky grease and no matter what I try it won't come off. I have tried Elbow Grease, Pink Stuff, bleach etc."
While you may expect cleaning fanatics to suggest a particular spray, it was actually a laundry product most people have in their cupboard that came up trumps - washing powder. Someone suggested: "Try soaking in biological washing powder and boiling water. The enzymes in the powder break down the grease. Make sure you rinse really well though." Another agreed, writing: "Hot water straight from the kettle and a bit of washing powder. I swear by it. Mine looked just like that."
One woman shared: "Elbow Grease wouldn't remove the grease on my air fryer but the cheap laundry powder from Asda did." "Dishwasher tablet with boiling hot water, leave to soak then scrub with washing up liquid", another Mrs Hinch fan added.
