A woman has gone viral for her unique "miracle anti-ageing elixir" which left her skin brighter and clearer after two weeks.

Skincare lovers are inundated with social media posts every day telling us which products to buy and techniques to make our faces look flawless. But, not everything works for everyone - some are obsessed with hyaluronic acid, others swear by nightly face masks, and others count on cleansing tools and facial rollers.

But one woman has found a simple way to get glowing skin that won't cost you a fortune. Digital creator and beauty influencer, Lisa Baisl, sprayed rice water on her face daily for 14 days in a row and saw her skin dramatically improve. She decided to try the hack after seeing a video of someone trying the "miracle" trend.

Lisa noticed her skin looked younger, less inflamed, and more hydrated than usual. She even saw her acne go down thanks to the rice water.

Sharing a video of this on Instagram (@lisa .beautify) she quickly gained over 38.4m views from people rushing to try the trend. Lisa explained: "I tested this hack for about two weeks and it felt like it did, in fact, brighten my skin and I noticed fewer breakouts."

The 30-year-old, from New York, added: "Not every DIY works, but this certainly can! Rice water has ‘time-turning’ properties that blur away premature signs of ageing, like fine lines and wrinkles. It's known to be rich in antioxidants and is an excellent skin-brightening ingredient.

"It brightens and fades dark spots and pigmentation when used regularly." In the video, Lisa can be seen rinsing a cup of long-grain rice twice before soaking it for half an hour. She then stores it in a jar for two days to allow it to ferment before spraying it on her face daily.

She added: "Korean women have been using rice water for centuries for skin whitening and brightening. I will continue using the rice water hack to see what other results I can achieve with it as it's super easy to incorporate into one's skincare routine.

"I love testing different beauty hacks from around the world and sharing them with my followers, and this one positively surprised me." The clip gained ove4r 825,800 likes and thousands of comments on Instagram.

One individual said: "This works soooo good! I stand by it been using it for years!" Another wrote: "I am 51 and have been using fermented rice water on my face for years."

Another third said: "Ok Guys I’m soaking my rice. "It’s really good for your hair too. Just smells strong once fermented, I add Moroccan oil to mine," said someone else.

"I do this for two years and it really helps hair and skin," said one viewer.
