Be prepared to take a final trip into hell - as Prime Video has just renewed much-loved fantasy comedy series Good Omens.
Based on the novel by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett, the show starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant will return for a third and final season. And the omens are good it will be ... great, with the first two seasons garnering an impressive 85 per cent approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Sheen portrays the angel Aziraphale, while Tennant embodies the demon Crowley. The initial season, launched in 2019, revolved around the duo's enduring friendship and the jeopardy posed to peace on earth by imminent Armageddon. Originally intended as a limited series, its stellar success led to a second season in 2021.
The highly-anticipated follow-up premiered this year and concluded with a gripping cliffhanger, leaving fans eagerly craving more. Announcing through X, formerly Twitter, the official Good Omens account posted: "We are ineffably elated to confirm that Good Omens will return for a third season! This calls for a round of hot chocolate and sweet treats!"
Speaking about the show's revival, Neil Gaiman said: “I'm so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006. Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end. Season one was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the End of the World.

"Season two was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain Angel and Demon might have hoped. Now in season three, we will deal once more with the end of the world. The plans for Armageddon are going wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to put it right. And they aren't talking.”
The concluding season of Good Omens will begin filming soon in Scotland.
