The PS5 Slim is finally available to pick up with a range of retailers stocking the console as well as bundles and deals going live.
The PS5 Slim was finally released just last month. This new and updated PS5 Slim system features a detachable disc drive and a larger 1TB storage capacity but has the same internal specifications as the current PS5, which is set to be phased out once all current stock depletes.
The PS5 Slim – with the disc drive included – comes in at £479.99 / $499.99, while the PS5 Slim Digital Edition is priced at £389.99 / $449.99. The PS5 Slim price in Australia hasn't been confirmed but given these figures are similar to the current PS5 pricing, we can assume the PS5 Slim Australian price will be AU$799.99 for the disc version and AU$649.95 for the PS5 Slim Digital Edition. The PS5 Slim attachable disc drive can be picked up for £99.99 / $79.99 when sold separately, which converts to roughly AU$125.
Despite the PS5 Slim being referred to as (model group - Slim) by Sony on the retail page for the console, don't get too excited over the prospect of more storage space on your TV unit or desk, as teardowns revealed the new console isn't that much smaller than the original.
