This festive prank left one woman desperate for cleaning advice.
With Christmas fast approaching, parents up and down the country are trying to get their children in the spirit of the festive season and make things as magical as possible for their families.
But one mum's attempt to create 'snow' and make it look like her child's elf toy had been making snow angels in her room has massively backfired.
Initially, the mum thought she had come up with quite the "great idea" for a prank for her daughter's elf toy but in the end, it turned out she had not thought it all the way through.
Last year, the woman emptied a load of beanbag balls all over her daughter's room and placed the elf in the 'snow', but it didn't quite go to plan to say the least.
Viral sausage roll debate leaves Brits confused about how to order at GreggsOnce she had done all of this, it was only then that the mum only realised that she might have a massive clean-up operation on her hands. So she decided to write a post in the Mrs Hinch Facebook Group for cleaning tips to see if any other prankster mums had made the same mistake.
In the post, she wrote: "So we thought it was a great idea for the pesky elves to make it snow. Snow is the little balls you find in bean bags. 2.5 bags in and we're still nowhere near tidying.
"I have a Henry Hoover with a detachable bag, any of you lovely lot have any suggestions of a way I can use Henry to quickly and efficiently tidy this up. Not sure if a carrier bag on the nozzle will melt in the heat or what, Thank you!!!"
As it turned out, she was not the only one to have underestimated the clean-up of the particular prank as others were on hand to say they made the same mistake. One person wrote: "My little girl emptied a bean bag all over her bedroom. Took me hours to clean up and was still finding them a year later. I wanted to cry. Good luck x"
While another said: "Just so you know, my kids emptied out one of these a year ago. And I'm still finding them. And we've moved house since." A third added: "I broke my Henry hoover hoovering these up! They went into the electrical mechanism."
