An American influencer has shared all her least favourite things about Australia, sparking controversy online. Lo Swo is a digital content creator and OnlyFans model, and last week she revealed some of her personal annoyances about a life lived Down Under, having spent time in both Perth and Sydney.

Speaking to her TikTok followers in a viral video, she said: "I just spent ten days in Australia and I have words." At first she was complimentary about the country and praised its 'clean and fresh' air, however soon she listed her pet peeves, one of which was flies.

She stated: "Australians, I don't know how you're surviving with the flies." Hailing from Florida herself, mosquitos can be a problem in her home state, but she said they were nothing compared to the flies in Australia.

Next the influencer criticised the famous Australian magpie, expressing her outrage at witnessing the birds take part in a "gang fight". She said: "It was like a five-on-one-fight. Pretty sure they killed the one. I don't know why but it happened. I saw it. It was terrifying."

Lo went on to say that she was not a fan of the country's nightlife. She explained: "Nothing is open past 7 or 8pm, all the restaurants close at like 5 and then all of the stores close at like 7. Also, nothing is open on the weekends, like after midnight... Perth was like 'Mmmm, it's late, go to bed, everybody go to bed'."

She also noticed a sinister side to the country, saying there were "a lot of racists like America". There was one habit in particular she found especially offensive.

She said: "A lot of Australians thought it'd be funny to compare every racist thing they would say to Mexicans, as if my partner and I would think that was funny because we're American. And I don't because most of my family lives in Mexico now. So that wasn't cool. That sucked.

"I felt bad for anybody who was a minority living in Australia dealing with that." Yet the influencer also shared some more positive observations about the country, and praised the "amazing" public transport system and Western Australia's Rottnest Island.

She was thrilled to see kangaroos "hanging out" just beyond the city, but admitted she was unsure if she would ever return to the country. "I don't know if I would do it again anytime soon," she said.

She added: "But, yeah, Australia you're all right, minus the flies, that was terrible, but you're all right." The video has accrued more than 345,000 views online and understandably a mixed response from Aussies themselves.

Some criticised her, and noted that she had only seen Sydney and Perth, and not visited the rest of the country. One person commented: "Don't judge all of Australia by Perth, Perth is nice but everything closes early."

Another stated: "Perth is 20 years behind the rest of Australia. Shops and restaurants don't close early in other states like Victoria." A third added: "should have come to the east coast"

Others spent time defending the West Australian capital, with one person saying: "Perth closes early because we respect our service industry and retail workers. Work life balance here is important!"

But many agreed with Lo regarding the fly problem down under. One jokingly said: "The flies are part of the reason we have a slight murmur when we talk".

Another simply added that the flies were "absolutely doing my head in".
