Disney+ has dropped Keanu Reeves’ hotly anticipated Formula 1 documentary. Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story is hosted and produced by The Matrix and John Wick star, who shares the story of Brawn GP and their remarkable Formula 1 Championship Season.

The four-part unscripted docuseries takes viewers back to 2009 and recalls the remarkable story of how Ross Brawn, competing in the most expensive and technologically advanced racing series on Earth, made the impossible happen. His understaffed, underfinanced, and independent team won the World Championship, taking on the biggest titans of the industry – all after purchasing the team for just £1.

Formula 1 fans can go behind the scenes of this fairytale with the people who were there – on the track, in the garage and the boardroom – giving their own recounts of this miraculous year. It tells the story with access to the F1 archives – much of it previously unseen – and through the insights of Ross Brawn and F1 legends including Jenson Button, Rubens Barrichello, Nick Fry and Christian Horner.

The series has earned some warm reviews, with The Guardian praising Reeves’ untrained interview skills and “adorable habits” that help to humanise the Brawn GP story. Autosport said the documentary’s detailed story is told “with much fondness” that makes its four episodes fly by.
