Christmas can be an exciting time, especially if you have young children. The magic of Christmas for any child can be a warming experience, and as parents, you'd hope to try and keep them believing in Santa for as long as possible.

There are also other ways parents can keep the excitement going over the festive period, such as getting children to help decorate the tree and help bake Christmassy goodies. There is also the popular activity that has become popular over the recent years - Elf on the Shelf.

Originally starting in the US, parents in Britain have adopted the tradition. For those that don't know what it is, the aim is that each elf needs to be placed in a different cheeky position every morning to make it look like he's been up to mischief each morning.

The popular Christmas craze has captured the hearts of Children each year, and parents have found popular bargain retailer Poundland has started selling Elf On The Shelf goodies, perfect for those little ones who love their naughty Elves. With a range of treats, starting from just £1.

Coming across the Elf range, Poundland fan Ashleigh Heron wanted to let other bargain lovers know about it and posted a photo on the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK. She wrote: "Elf on the Shelf Christmas treats at Poundland."

Among the items available, Ashleigh came across chocolate lollipops, giant elf cookies, and elf and Christmas-themed sweets which would be great stocking fillers. As well as these, Ashleigh also came across a "decorate your own chocolate scout elf kit" which would be a perfect activity to keep kids entertained too - costing just £2.

The post impressed the group members, with many claiming they were going to head to Poundland and pick up some of the goodies. "Need Poundland tomorrow," one user said, while another agreed and said: "Definitely getting some of this."

If you are participating in Elf on the Shelf this year and know you will be stuck for ideas, as coming up with a different idea every day for a month can be tricky, we've shared some fun elf pranks that could inspire your next moves. From hiding on a toilet paper hammock to a scavenger hunt and disguising with a moustache - we've got you covered.
