The PS Plus Essential November 2023 free games have arrived on the PlayStation Store, and you're now able to download Dragon Ball: The Breakers, Mafia 2: Definitive Edition, and Aliens: Fireteam Elite – three titles that are squarely middle-of-the-road.
PS Plus Essential subscribers can grab the newest batch of announced last week for the PS Plus Essential November 2023 lineup. And once again, following September's PS Plus price increase, the free games are a mediocre medley that all received middling reviews. The price hike isn't doing to well to justify itself, with the PS Plus Essential October 2023 lineup headlined by The Callisto Protocol, and the PS Plus Essential September 2023 lineup giving players Generation Zero, which sits at a mediocre 51 on Metacritic. While the majority of games included in PS Plus Essential aren't terrible, they sure as hell aren't worth that price hike.
The newest of the PS Plus Essential November 2023's free games is last year's Dragon Ball: The Breakers, which is the classic anime series' take on the asymmetrical multiplayer trend popularised by games like Dead By Daylight and Friday The 13th. In this game you play as some of the Dragon Ball franchise's biggest jobbers like Oolong, Bulma, and Yajirobe, battling to survive against the 'Raider' which features the likes of Cell, Frieza and Majin Buu. The game recently launched its fourth season which introduced Broly as a new Raider, and the absolute best Dragon Ball character, Mr. Satan, as a player character.
Speaking of multiplayer games based off popular licensed properties from the '80s, Aliens: Fireteam Elite takes the action of James Cameron's 1986 Aliens and turns it into a three-player third-person shooter. It isn't likely to blow you away, but it seems like a perfect game for PS Plus so you and some pals can live out your space marine fantasies.
If multiplayer isn't your forte, there's also Mafia 2: Definitive Edition, which is a remaster of the 2010 open-world game. While not quite as beloved as the original Mafia, the sequel is a solid open-world title; plus it may help tide you over a bit more in the wait for GTA 6.

PS Plus Essential November 2023 free games
The following games are included in the PS Plus Essential November 2023 lineup, and while all are available on PS5, only the Aliens game has a bona fide version for the console:
- Mafia 2: Definitive Edition ( PS4 )
- Dragon Ball: The Breakers (PS4)
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite (PS4, PS5 )
These games are available to download right now and will remain available to download until Tuesday, December 5 when the PS Plus Essential December 2023 games will release.
For those of you who are subscribed to PS Plus Extra and Premium you'll need to wait until next Wednesday, November 15 to find out which games will be joining those tiers. As always, the free titles will release the following Tuesday on November 21.
