Mamma Mia! Forget pineapple chunks, a new pizza topping suggestion has triggered a fierce discussion among foodies who can’t decide if it’s so-wrong-it’s-right, or just, well, wrong. Sink your teeth into the latest culinary recommendation doing the rounds on TikTok after content creator Natalie Ludwig served up some pizza slathered in… honey!
The American provided plenty of food for thought, quite literally, after posting a video of herself tucking into a slice dipped in the sticky stuff. Going viral, the clip, which was captioned “Honey is for the elite”, proved to be a real must-see – or rather, crust-see – clocking up over 160,000 views so far.
“Please, please go and try honey on your pizza,” she urged, adding: “[It’s] such a good combo. It’s sweet and savoury. It’s divine.” Some fans decided to serve rather than swerve the recipe and couldn’t wait to put the flavour combination to the test.

“Honey on pizza! Have you guys tried this before? I was missing out – big time!” gushed one user, while another added: “Honey works on everything.” However, not all bases were covered, and some followers couldn’t stomach the idea of cracking open their jars of honey.

Their comments were by no means honeyed, either, including the short-but-by-no-means sweet: “No,” “No way” and “Crime!” It does beg the question, what’s next for the Italian delicacy? Jam, peanut butter, or heck, even Marmite…
TikTok has pioneered its fair share of kitchen fads in the past, from grated hard-boiled egg and avocado on toast, and ‘healthy coke’ – balsamic vinegar and carbonated water – which quickly fizzled out.
