Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce recently addressed the rumours that he has been dating singer Taylor Swift.
Speculation began earlier this month that the Chiefs tight end had begun dating Swift after he had unsuccessfully tried to meet her and give her a bracelet with his number at one of her concerts. It was later reported that both Swift and Kelce have been 'hanging out' in New York in recent weeks.
Kelce has been injured in recent days, after the 33-year-old hyperextended his knee during practice on September 5. The injury came just two days before the Chiefs opened the 2023 NFL season with the home game against the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chiefs tight end missed the game against Detroit but made his return in Week Two against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was in the days leading up to the trip to Florida that the rumours around Kelce and Swift began to surface.
Kelce was recently asked in an interview about the rumours that he and Swift had begun dating. The Chiefs star did not give anything away, but did acknowledge that he was aware of the speculation that has been doing the rounds.
Joe Burrow backs Patrick Mahomes after Kansas City Chiefs reach Super Bowl“I know what you writers wanna hear, and you wanna hear more about that. And I’m not gonna give you anything,” Kelce said in an interview with NFL+ on September 15.
Kelce was also asked if the rumours were true that he had supposedly gifted Swift a bracelet that had his phone number written on it. However, the Chiefs tight end, once again, refused to say much on the subject.
“I said what I said. And I meant what I said when I said it,” Kelce said. “You know what, it is what it is. I’m not gonna talk about my personal life.”
Kelce’s comments came on the same day that he appeared to tease fans ahead of his return from injury. The tight end hyperextended his knee in practice but returned to the field with his teammates a few days later missing just one game.
On Tuesday’s practice, Kelce could be seen running while in Chiefs uniform and wearing his helmet before he appeared to hold his previously injured knee, implying that it was still giving him discomfort. The tight end then stopped and placed his hands on his knees and started to dance as he put fans at ease over his injury.
He successfully returned to action as the Chiefs got their first win of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Kelce scored a touchdown and ended the game with four catches for 26 yards.
