Demi Lovato's edgy performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards left fans divided with some praising the singer's edge rock performance with others bashing the singer, claiming their voice was drowned out from the band.

Demi's performance was the first time singing at the VMA's in six years. Demi's performance comes as the singer prepares to release a 10-track album titled "Revamped" featuring rock versions of some of their biggest songs. The 31-year-old singer's album drops on September 15. They shared with Rolling Stone: “I love revisiting these past moments in my career."

Demi gave viewers a sneak peak of what's to come during their performance at the VMA's singing a rock version of their songs "Heart Attack,” “Sorry Not Sorry,” and “Cool For the Summer”. Devoted fans of the singer flocked to Twitter to share their reaction to the highly anticipated performance.

One fan wrote: "Demi Lovato is soooo f****g talented & I'm absolutely loving the rock performance! Such a slay." Another added: "ARE Y'ALL HEARING THESE INSANE VOCALS OMGGGGGG. One thing about Demi is that the mic is always ONNNN."

And a third commented: "That was too f****g goooddd, the best performance so far." Some critics claimed that Demi's vocals were off during her performances and the loud band behind her was drowning out her voice. While many eagerly await the release of Demi's new album others feel that Demi should could stick to the original version of their hit songs.

One person wrote: "No bby this don't need to have a rock beat pls stop." Another tweeted: "I love Demi Lovato but she sounds horrible."

And a third added: "Turn up her mic! Demi is a loud singer, I feel like I can barely hear her." Others pointed out that Taylor Swift looked like she was in high spirits in the crowd as she rocked out to Demi's performance. Taylor was all smiles as she excitedly sang along to every word of Demi's hit song "Heart Attack" supporting and cheering on the singer from afar.

Demi was seen stepping out for her performance wearing a sexy all-black look as they sang their heart out on a stage covered in purple smoke. The Confident singer was seen rocking a long leather dress onstage competing their rocker look with their long dark locks giving a sleek wet-hair look and dark black eyeliner.
