Sean Strickland brutally told Israel Adesanya to "man the f*** up" after losing his UFC middleweight title.

Adesanya was expected to breeze past top contender Strickland at UFC 293 on Saturday night but things didn't go to plan as the champion lost his world title by unanimous decision. The win goes down as one of the biggest upsets in MMA history as Strickland was a huge betting underdog heading into the title clash.

UFC boss Dana White has since confirmed Adesanya will have the chance to avenge his defeat and reclaim his world title in an immediate rematch against Strickland. Adesanya only stopped by the post-fight press conference for one minute after his loss as he let head coach Eugene Bareman address the media and Strickland believes his rival should have faced the music.

"You win some, you lose some. I don't f****ng know Just man the f*** up, you know? You win some you lose some, just man the f*** up. There's a chance I fight somebody else and I'm in f****ng in the backroom all bloodied and f***ed up, it's f***ng fighting guys. Any given f****ng Sunday, we are throwing four-ounce gloves really f****ng hard," Strickland said.

Strickland expected to be walking out of the cage bloodied up with a concussion on Saturday night but he instead left without a mark on his face. Adesanya never found his rhythm in the fight as Strickland felt like he was fighting an amateur at times. The new champion also planned to wrestle for most of the fight, but that wasn't the case as he didn't attempt a single takedown over 25-minutes.

"I didn't really take much damage other than checking a few kicks, I still can't wrap my head around it and I thought it would be a lot harder. I thought I'd be walking away a little bloodied up and concussed. I love to box and I box guys that most MMA fighters can handle for five rounds but I go 12 rounds with them. I just put in the work," Strickland added.

"I feel like the guy didn't even f****ng try. There were moments where he was throwing punches and I was like 'Am I fighting an amateur right now, what the f*** is going on?'. I thought I was going to be leaving with a concussion but I feel relatively fine other than a few bumps and bruises."
