Michael Jordan ’s son has revealed how the NBA legend almost lost thousands of dollars after falling off a jet ski.
The Chicago Bulls legend has been retired from basketball for more than two decades. Jordan won six NBA championships with the Bulls in the 1990s, including two famous three-peats with the story being immortalised in Netflix ’s ‘The Last Dance’ documentary.
During his playing days, Jordan was one of the most famous sports stars in the world, as well as in the United States. And his son, Marcus, has revealed how the NBA legend nearly lost a great deal of money while on a family holiday.
Marcus Jordan, 32, is currently dating Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of Jordan’s former Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen. The son of the NBA great talked about the incident that happened while he and his father were on a family holiday in the Bahamas.
Marcus appeared on the 'Spilling Family Secrets’ podcast alongside his girlfriend, Larsa. And it was here where Marcus claimed that his father chose to rescue a “wad of cash” over his own daughter, Jasmine, after the pair had capsized on a jet ski.

“My sister was floating, she had a life vest on,” said Marcus. “My dad was on the water, he wasn't wearing a life vest. All you see is this big wad of cash like probably 40 grand in a rubber band.
Marcus added: “My dad literally went for the 40 grand first. My dad said, ‘She got on a life vest but I gotta go grab this couch’.”

Until June, the 60-year-old had been the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets, but that changed after the sale of the team was completed.
It was announced on June 16 that Jordan had agreed to sell the majority of his stakes in the Hornets to a group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall, with the deal being officially approved by the NBA a month later. Jordan reportedly banked $3 billion (£2.36 billion) from the sale, ending his 13-year role as the franchise’s majority owner.
A month after the sale of the Hornets was completed, Jordan was spotted in France on holiday with his wife, Yvette. The former Bulls star was seen relaxing on a luxury yacht off the coast of Villefranche-sur-Mer, a coastal town in the south of France.
