Kanye West could potentially dedicate his new album to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian to demonstrate "catharsis", an expert has claimed, with them also noting the rapper's "lingering emotions".
Speculation has been rife of late, with many fans convinced the 46-year-old rapper will dedicate his upcoming album to his ex-wife Kim, who is the mother of his four kids. Fans on Reddit have said that because Kim and Kanye got married in Florence, Italy in 2014, and now Kanye is in Florence with his new wife Bianca Censori, it could potentially have a deeper meaning.
One fan noted that "we all know Ye is still in love with Kim", with them adding that "there is no real reason that Ye would film in a hotel in Florence" unless it "all ties into something deeper" before adding that his new album could "maybe be a tribute to his past relationship".

He has since moved on and remarried, with him marrying Bianca Censori in January (ye&blanca/Instagram)And now senior therapist and relationship expert Sally Baker from Working On The Body has weighed in, with her revealing to us that the aftermath of a divorce can be "a complex and emotionally charged period for individuals, particularly when children are involved". She added that it's not uncommon for divorced couples to have "lingering emotions" that can range from positive to negative.
In our exclusive chat, Sally said: "The speculation that Kanye may dedicate his latest album to his ex-wife and mother of their children Kim Kardashian sheds light on the intricacies of these emotions and the enduring impact of past relationships." She then added that even though they may have both moved on and with Kanye having remarried, "the emotional ties to the past can remain".

She explained that "positive emotions towards an ex-spouse can stem from shared memories, the sense of family, and the acknowledgment of the role they played in shaping one's life", adding: "The dedication of his new album to his ex-wife could be seen as an expression of gratitude, a recognition of the positive aspects of their past relationship, and a testament to the enduring bond formed."
Although Sally said that it is also important to acknowledge that "negative emotions can coexist with positive ones", adding: "Divorce often involves hurt, disappointment, and sometimes even betrayal. These negative emotions may arise from unresolved conflicts, unmet expectations, or the pain of separation."
Sally concluded by talking about how should Kanye dedicate his album to Kim it could be seen as "a cathartic release" and a way to "serve as a way to find closure or to heal old wounds". She then added: "It could also show a willingness to acknowledge the impact of their past relationship and to honour their shared history, even if it did not work out in the long run. It signifies an ability to move beyond bitterness and resentment and embrace a more nuanced view of the past."
