Your home should be your sanctuary. After a long day dealing with the perils and stresses that the outside world has to offer, you deserve to be able to relax and unwind. Unfortunately for many, having noisy and inconsiderate neighbours makes this difficult. From parking disputes to DIY at unsociable hours and constant noise, some people are having their lives turned upside down by their neighbours and for one fed up tenant, her apartment is shaking so loud from her noisy neighbours at night that her days are being ruined.
In her desperate plea for a solution to this problem, the anonymous woman who lives in an old building with poor sound isolation wrote on Reddit: "My neighbour upstairs plays loud music with a low bass after midnight until 3am every other day. I cannot sleep with that, the sound is loud and it is like my bed is shaking. I am not well-functional during the day due to this."
Moving is not an option due to her rent contract and despite having her peace being disrupted by the obnoxious music, she's even willing to negotiate the times that the music is played instead of wanting it turned off altogether - "I am not a mean person," she says, "He plays loud hard-core music all day long. If it is not my sleep time, say from 11pm to 7am, I will live with that."
No amount of discussion with the tenant so far has helped the situation, with the woman knocking the noisy neighbour's door to try and discuss a solution and him branding her "insane". Polite letters along with noise logs have been sent and the landlord has been contacted but nothing is helping the situation, leaving this resident considering the only option she has not tried - calling the police.
"It may not really help", she says, "he is a large man and I am a single lady living alone. I do not want to have confrontations with him after the police leave. We share a public mailbox at the common front door, I do not feel well that a random man knows my identity and feels hostile to me."

Offering support and encouraging the fed up woman, one person advised: "Call the police. Every time. If nothing else, they will have a record of how many times they have to show up to his house. Eventually, you can use that record to go to your landlord or to court. He will be reprimanded or eventually kicked out."
Another person suggested the resident take the revenge route and said: "Find out when he sleeps and play loud music at that time, put a big speaker right up to the wall. Make his life miserable."
