MAKE sure you’re in good voice to cheer home CAIUS CHORISTER (3.35) in York’s Sky Bet Ebor.

He looks to have had Britain’s most valuable Flat handicap in his sights since finishing runner-up in the Melrose – basically the Ebor for three-year-olds – on this card 12 months ago.

That form stands up very well and his trainer David Menuisier has kept him to shorter distances this term.

He kicked off the season with a couple of decent Epsom efforts before putting a rare poor shift in a Listed race at Pontefract.

That was simply too bad to be true and, although he never figured in a decent handicap at Goodwood earlier in the month, it was a promising effort.

The ground was softer than he cares for and the 1m2f trip way too short, but he plugged on nicely in the closing stages. The return to 1m6f will be ideal. Have 2pts each-way at 33-1. The race sponsors Sky Bet are paying out on a monster eight places.

Frankie Dettori’s farewell tour remains in full swing and he has a great chance of landing the Sky Bet Melrose on DAVIDEO (2.25).

Ralph Beckett’s runner made all to land a Newmarket maiden on his return to action in May before trailing in last in the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot.

That was purely due to going too hard in the early stages. He tried to get a prominent position from a wide draw but simply succeeded in helping force a crazily-fast pace.

The way he put that experience behind him to take a 1m4f Newmarket handicap at the July Meeting suggests he is going to love the step up to 1m6f for the first time.

His trainer remains in astonishing form. Have 1p each-way to win at 10-1. Most firms are paying four places.

THE GREEN MAN (4.10) has developed into a useful and reliable sprinter.

He’s got plenty of form in races like the 6f handicap that follows the Ebor.

The way he charged clear to score when following up his Doncaster success over this course and distance in June was most impressive. That form worked out very nicely.

He’s since run two sound races, including when third behind subsequent Stewards’ Cup hero Aberama Gold over track and trip in July. The weights favour him this time. Have 1pt each-way at 10-1. A few bookies are paying out on six places.
