Being asked to be a bridesmaid or maid of honour can be a special moment, as knowing you're going to play an important role in a close friend or family member's wedding can be a big deal. Organising and helping the bride is all part of it, but it can be tricky when the bride's demands of you quickly become too much.

One woman has claimed that her friend turned into an ultimate "bridezilla" and even went as far as telling her to not try for a baby until after the wedding due to the morning sickness. The bride's comments made her want to step down from her Maid of Honour duties, which in turn resulted in her being uninvited to the wedding altogether.

Asking if she's an a**hole for stepping down, the riled woman shared her ordeal on Reddit as she wrote: "I refused to be a maid of honour because the bride became bridezilla and had high expectations on what my responsibilities are, did not like my husband and wanted me to wait until her wedding is over before trying to make a baby because I am MOH and she decided I didn't want to deal with morning sickness during the wedding. I thought the expectations were crossing the line and there were multiple other demands made where she was unwilling to listen to my opinion on anything. There were two MOHs including me, so I decided to step down from being MOH and be a normal guest instead."

Not agreeing with the bride's extreme requests, the woman had already planned and paid for the hotel for the destination wedding, spending over £3,000 on the occasion, only to then be uninvited from it completely. She continued to explain: "Anyways, the bride UNINVITED me and my husband to the destination wedding and got our RSVP of YES cancelled after booking a $4000 reservation for a six-day trip to Cancun with multiple wedding activities. I was able to get a full refund. She use to call me her little sister and her best friend.

"She ended things by sending a wall of hurtful texts to never speak to her again, calling my husband a clown and depressing. I did not respond to a single text after being uninvited because I was hurt and the texts kept coming and no calls. She ended our friendship over text messages and unfriended me on social media. Update: Fortunately, I was able to get a full refund."

Thankfully the woman was able to get a full refund on the trip and many people were quick to comment on the unfortunate situation to say that the bride didn't sound like much of a friend. One fellow Redditor wrote: "She's not your friend, and you don't need people like that in your life. Block her on everything and get on with your life." Whilst another added: "Imagine thinking you're so important that you can dictate to your friends when they're allowed to have kids. Be happy the trash took itself out here, you don't ever have to deal with her selfishness ever again."
