'Fuming' Susanna Reid confronted bosses over string of 'stupid' blunders on set

Susanna Reid was reportedly left fuming on the Good Morning Britain set after a number of gaffes "made the show look stupid".

The presenter, 52, is thought to have confronted senior executives after their errors led to a number of on-screen errors.

She is said to have been furious at a number of issues on the show, including several spelling issues, such as the word "remembering" being spelt incorrectly during a story about a death.

Other instances include the wrong date being shown on screen and also the name of a news correspondent appearing incorrect on a report about the war in Ukraine; Ben Chapman was incorrectly labelled Ben Champan.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "She [Susanna] made her feelings very clear, and confronted the senior executives over it.”

According to insiders, Susanna has felt more responsibility to ensure the standards of the show don't slip following the exit of her former co-presenter Piers Morgan in 2021.

It's said that her frustation over the mistakes has led to bosses sending emails out to staff members.

The source continued: "Susanna is totally professional and just wants high standards — as Piers or any other presenter would have done.

"The last thing anyone wants is her walking away in anger."

Susanna has been in fine form on-screen this week with her tough questioning of Matt Hancock winning wide praise by viewers.

The pair went head to head on Wednesday's edition of the morning show, with fans taking to Twitter to share their delight at her interrogation of the MP.

Alongside Richard Madeley, Susanna quizzed the former Health Secretary on a number of issues, including his huge pay packet for appearing on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.

She also left him tied up with his words as she asked about whether his lockdown antics were in fact against the law. Having details on hand, she pressed him on the subject, much to the delight of the viewers at home.

The Mirror has contacted representatives for GMB and Susanna for comment.
