Crystal Palace are ready to enter the race to sign Manchester United's Dean Henderson.
The goalkeeper is among the understudies to Andre Onana at Old Trafford and the Red Devils are willing to let Henderson leave on a loan basis with the option to buy. Last term the Englishman went out temporarily to Nottingham Forest, who are also looking to sign him.
Palace see Henderson, who has won international honours, as a replacement for shot stopper Vicente Guaita, who looks set to leave Selhurst Park. They are also weighing up moves for Southampton ’s Alex McCarthy and Daniel Iversen at Leicester.
The Sun reports that the Eagles would be open to a deal if the finances worked in their favour. Forest have begun to back away from any deal after United tried to stipulate a guarantee to buy if Henderson played a certain amount of games at the City Ground this season.
They've also added Matt Turner from Arsenal, who has immediately gone in as a starter, lessening their need to pursue Henderson, who did spend a large chunk of last season out injured. It had been reported previously that United were reluctant to send their goalkeeper to other clubs for a medical amid fears he would aggravate his issue.

Palace currently have Sam Johnstone - another former United man - as their No 1. He and Henderson are good friends but would do battle for the starting role if he did move to south London. Henderson though has grown frustrated of being a back-up in recent years.
Following a breakout spell across a two-year loan at Sheffield United, the 26-year-old has found minutes hard to come by, growing tired of playing second fiddle to David de Gea throughout Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tenure. Henderson previously claimed he was given guarantees about his minutes, only to be left on the bench.
He told TalkSport last summer: "I turned so many good loans down last summer, and they wouldn't let me go. It was frustrating. To sit there and waste 12 months is criminal really, at my age. I was fuming."
United allowed De Gea to leave when his contract expired in the summer but have singed replaced him with Andre Onana, whom they spent a hefty sum on. The goalkeeper has gone straight in as first choice with Tom Heaton among his back-ups as Henderson seeks pastures new.
