Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have reacted to their team's blockbuster 5-5 draw at home with Swindon Town on Saturday, with the Welsh club battling back from 4-1 down at half-time.

The National League winners haven't had the start that they would have been hoping for in League Two. Although, their chances haven't been helped by the absence of main man Paul Mullin, who suffered a punctured lung during a preseason game with Manchester United.

The striker could be back on the pitch in a matter of "weeks, rather than months", manager Phil Parkinson confirmed this week. But the team are managing to share the goal-scoring responsibility between them in the meantime.

Wrexham came from behind twice to secure a stunning 5-5 draw with Swindon at the Racecourse Ground. James Jones and ex-West Ham striker Elliot Lee scored braces, with both scoring in dramatic fashion in added time.

It was Lee's 96th-minute penalty that confirmed the split of the points, leaving Wrexham in 15th after four games played. Parkinson's men have registered just one win, two draws, and two losses in League Two this season.

"So much heart. #NeverLeaveAWrexhamMatchEarly," Hollywood star Reynolds said on Twitter. While It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-star McElhenney added: "This team and this town will never ever give up. All heart all the time."

Manager Parkinson gave his reaction after the match: "Where do you start? At 4-1 down at half-time I was confident we could respond and that's a credit to the group. I've been in dressing rooms before as a player and as a manager where that would worry you and it certainly didn't. But we've also got to be honest that the very basics have got to be so much better."

Parkinson added on another historic comeback: "The atmosphere was incredible today. I've said it many times; but we've had games, Dover, getting beat and came back to win. But the crowd believes in the group."

Wrexham are on the road next, facing sixth-place Barrow next Saturday in a 3pm kick-off. An EFL Cup second-round clash with Bradford City will then follow on Tuesday. Wrexham won't play at home again until Sept. 5, when they host Newcastle's U21s for a Football League Trophy game, with an away day to Tranmere coming just before.

Notts County, who came up alongside Wrexham, are two points better off than their old National League rivals after winning 3-1 away at Doncaster.
