Fiorentina are still waiting for Manchester United to firm up their interest in Sofyan Amrabat with an official bid.

The Morocco international has plenty of suitors all over Europe after impressing for the Atlas Lions in the 2022 World Cup. United are known to be keen on a deal for the 26-year-old, however, funds are tight at Old Trafford after Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund were all signed for significant transfer fees.

Erik ten Hag remains hopeful that more new signings will arrive before next month's transfer deadline with Amrabat firmly on the Dutchman's wishlist. And although Amrabat is believed to be keen on the move, nothing appears to be imminent.

That's because United are yet to table any official offer for his services, according to La Repubblica, via Football Italia. Furthermore, it's claimed that the Italian outfit are ready to sell Amrabat for €30million (£25.9m) - once they actually receive a bid.

Bayern Munich are also admirers of the playmaker, with Sky Sports Germany reporting that the German giants have Amrabat on their shortlist. The player's representatives are said to be aware of Thomas Tuchel's desire to sign a No.6 before September 1; and unlike Manchester United, Bayern would not need to offload players to fund a deal for Amrabat.

Fiorentina decided against including Amrabat in the squad that travelled to England this weekend to play in the Sela Cup at St James' Park amid speculation over his future. The midfielder was left in Italy and will not feature against Newcastle or OGC Nice.

After wrapping up a £72m deal for Hojlund this weekend, Manchester United will now turn their attention to offloading a number of players who are surplus to requirements.

Midfield duo Fred and Donny van de Beek are both expected to struggle for minutes this term and are understood to be available for transfer. The former has been linked with Galatasaray and Fulham, while Van de Beek has been touted as a possible target for Real Sociedad.

Scott McTominay has also been the subject of transfer interest from West Ham, who also saw a £20m bid for Harry Maguire rebuffed by Manchester United earlier in the transfer window.

Ten Hag hinted that he was aiming to conduct more transfer business before Saturday's 3-1 win over RC Lens. He told MUTV: "We always want more [signings]."We can never be satisfied because we always want to achieve high levels.

"But as I have said previously, the high levels also have to come from the way of playing and improvement. We work every day for that, to have a better game and to improve individuals by raising the bar.

"We want to deliver high standards."
