Lizzo, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, is facing a lawsuit filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles brought by Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez. Together they allege the American singer fat-shamed and sexually harassed them while also accusing her of religious and racial harassment, discrimination, assault and false imprisonment.
The performers, who are suing for damages, also allege the Truth Hurts hitmaker, 35, pressured one of them to touch a nude performer at an Amsterdam club. Following news of the lawsuit breaking, two more individuals, who are believed to have previously worked with Lizzo, accused the Grammy Award-winning singer of creating a toxic work environment.
Lizzo is yet to publicly comment on the lawsuit or the allegations made against her and her team. Fans of the singer have been commenting on her most recent Instagram posts – shared this week – asking the Hustlers actress to address the claims.
The last post shared to Lizzo's 13.4million followers shows snaps of the singer wearing a pink ensemble as she performs on stage, with the under-fire star captioning the update with lyrics from her track Soulmate: "true love ain’t somethin that u buy yourself.. true love finally happens when u by yourself." While Lizzo's lyrics may appeal to single women looking for an inspiring anthem, the singer is actually very much loved-up in her relationship.
Lizzo confirmed her romance with boyfriend Myke Wright in April 2022, during an interview with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM series Radio Andy. The Juice singer went on to make things Instagram official in June of the same year, as she posted some cute couple snaps on Instagram after the pair attended their first red carpet event together for the star’s Amazon Prime series premiere.
Lizzo and her new boyfriend go official with 'hard launch' at pre-Grammys bashMyke, who was first romantically linked to Lizzo in October 2021, is an actor, musician and stand-up comedian. His film credits include appearances in I Love You Forever, Doubting Thomas (2018) and How to Be a Grown Up (2014). The 35-year-old has also starred on comedy shows including Adam Devine's House Party and Laughs.
Before going public with their love for one another, Lizzo and Myke were once co-hosts for for MTV's music series Wonderland in 2016. Discussing how long she has known her boyfriend, Lizzo said of Myke in October 2022: "I've known him for over six years. He's everything. We're just in love. And that's it."
Despite both working in the entertainment industry, Lizzo and Myke have managed to keep their relationship relatively low-key but the singer has shared some rare insights into their romance at times. In July 2022, she told The Breakfast Club: I have the most genuine people around me. They don't give a s**t about Lizzo with the chain on."
She went on to add: "They care about Melissa, and everyone I'm close with has known me before all of this happened and I think that's important. Even the man I'm with, he knew me before all of this too. We were friends. It hit different when they knew you before 2019."
Lizzo went on to gush about Myke even more during an interview with Vanity Fair later the same year, telling the publication: "People fight for monogamy like they pray to it every day. I am not a polyamorous person, I'm not in love with multiple partners. That is not me. He's the love of my life. We are life mates."
The About Damn Time singer continued to seemingly play down speculation the pair are set to be engaged in the near future, saying: "Do I want to get married? If I wanted to start a business with him, I'd get married because that's when your finances come together." However, during a chat with Howard Stern in December 2022, Lizzo seemed more open to the idea of marriage, telling the radio host: "We're not playing any games with each other anymore. We're very much locked in. This is official. There's nobody else I'm going to be with for the rest of my life."
