Tom Hanks loves his wife, Rita Wilson, just the way she is and nothing will change that.
The 67-year-old actor, who has been in love with his wife Rita for 35 years, has defended her multiple times against people who have taken to the internet to shame the actress. Some have even taken to writing harsh comments such as: "Tom looks in great shape, while Rita looks out of shape and flabby."
She was criticised for her weight gain, which she admitted in 2010 was due to finding comfort in food during stressful times. But ever the dutiful husband, Tom was quick to reassure her she was perfect.
"I'll never forget, we were standing on the corner of 57th and 5th in New York, or 58th and 5th," Rita recalled, "He looked at me, and he said, ’You know, I just want you to know, that you never have to change anything about who you are in order to be with me.’”

In 1988, the two tied the knot. Together, Rita and Tom have two children, Chet and Truman, born in 1990 and 1995 respectively.

About his relationship, Tom has said: "When I married Rita, I thought, ’This is going to require some change on my part.’ I won’t deny that providence was part of us finding each other, but our relationship isn’t magic, the way it’s shown in movies."

She was so worried about what Tom would think, telling the New York Times: "You never know how your spouse is going to react in a situation like this." But she had nothing to worry about at all, adding: "I was so amazed, so blown away by the care my husband gave me ... who knew it would make you even closer?"
Tom continued to shower his wife with love, calling her "one of the most classically beautiful women who's ever walked the planet Earth" and in another interview said she's "extremely brave and beautiful."
Last month Tom shared on his Instagram that Rita had a new single out, named Little Black Dress as she's recently delved into country music. He wrote in his caption: "New single from the fabulous Rita Wilson. Let's declare this LITTLE BLACK DRESS DAY. Love this track, love this artist. Hanx."
