A biology teacher who posted sexually explicit images of himself has been barred from the profession. Disgraced William Nuttycombe, 64, uploaded “inappropriate” photos and videos to Instagram, and posted links to pay-per-view porn sites via Twitter. Some snaps – which could potentially have been seen by children – showed him and others engaged in sex acts. The teacher, who grew up in the US, posted the material while working at state girls’ grammar Aylesbury High School, Bucks.
Now, Nuttycombe “is prohibited from teaching indefinitely” after a probe by the Teaching Regulation Agency, which concluded last month. He was found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct and/or conduct that may bring the profession into disrepute by a three-person panel. Nuttycombe did not attend the hearing after telling officials he had retired from teaching and asking them to stop contacting him.
The school where he was teachingThe panel found he included details of his job on his Insta profile, although it was acknowledged he had attempted to make his social media accounts private. But the panel said: “You failed to ensure any or all of those photographs and/or videos… were not visible to pupils and/or parents. The public were able to access the content.”
Nuttycombe quit in August 2020 after the school was sent screenshots. A school witness told the panel the teacher, who was there six years, admitted he uploaded the videos and that they featured him. Nuttycombe did not admit any of the claims and the panel accused him of a “lack of insight and genuine remorse”.
He now advertises himself as a model and actor. On one site he says he can “travel abroad for work, cruise ships or holiday resorts (for entertainers)”. He is also thought to have worked in garden centres in Buckinghamshire and Bedford since quitting teaching.

Head Marieke Forster said: “This was a distressing case and we welcome the findings of the panel. Mr Nuttycombe was suspended and did not return. Safeguarding students is our highest priority.”
