Lorraine Kelly was absent from her ITV talk show on Wednesday, much to the disappointment of her loyal fanbase.
The Scottish TV presenter was forced to take a brief hiatus from work yesterday to be with her elderly mother, who is currently receiving inpatient hospital treatment.
Presenter Christine Lampard stepped in to replace Lorraine, marking her second time to host the popular morning program in the past month. Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh will also be subbing for the Glaswegian media star over the coming weeks, so viewers won't miss out on their sunrise fix of showbiz, fashion and human-interest stories.

In August, the 81-year-old was rushed to hospital after being diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, a condition which affects the kidneys' functioning. She is now being treated for an undisclosed illness at University Monklands Hospital in Lanarkshire, southern Scotland.

"Having spent a lot of time over the past few days with my mum hospital I’ve seen again just how kind, caring, hard working, funny and downright fabulous our NHS workers are 'thank you' doesn’t begin to cover it," the TV personality tweeted.

In February, Lorraine shared details about her beloved mum's 'worrying' illness.
Writing for Hello, she explained that Anne had been suffering symptoms such as 'swollen legs' before being diagnosed with the kidney disorder. Despite the nurses' and doctors' kindness, her mother "just wanted to get home" as soon as possible.

The breakfast show host went on to reveal that her mother had always been active, and prior to her illness, enjoying attending her book club and participating in exercise classes.
Lorraine has been inundated with supportive messages since sharing the news that her mother is back in hospital, many of which are wishing her a speedy recovery.
"I hope your Mum gets better soon. I remember being served by her when she worked in one of our local shops in East Kilbride. A lovely lady," a former customer of Anne's wrote.
"Hope your mum's keeping a bit better and yes NHS are wonderful," another commented.
In 2017, Lorraine revealed that she was almost adopted after her mother gave birth to her as a teenager.
"When my mum became pregnant with me, my formidable grandmother wanted to send her to England where the baby would have been adopted," she said. This plan was scrapped, however, when Lorraine's father, John, ended up proposing to Anne. "They are still together almost 58 years later and six years after I was born they had my brother Graham. I was lucky to have a stable family."
