Ice-T proved himself to be a loyal friend as he defended Jamie Foxx after conspiracies started running wild.
Jamie, 55, was first hospitalised in April for an unknown illness. His daughter, Corrine Foxx, announced he was in the hospital on Instagram. Since then, she's shot down rumours that her father was gravely ill, saying he was "out of the hospital for weeks."
For the first time since his illness, Jamie Foxx recently posted a video this week where he talked about his health struggle. He said he had been " to hell and back" and the Ray actor was teary-eyed as he spoke about how he wouldn't be here without his sister and daughter.
While many fans were excited to hear an update from him, other viewers weren't convinced.
Some people have voiced their conspiracy theories that the Jamie Foxx that we've seen recently is a "stunt double" or a creation of AI. But actor and rapper, Ice-T, who's friends with Jamie, is not here for the rumours.
Cameron Diaz's big movie comeback in crisis as Hollywood co-star 'sacks staff'The Law & Order: SVU star took to Instagram, posting side-by-side photos of Jamie before the accident, and a screenshot of him in the most recent video.
He captioned it: "People would rather believe that Jamie is now a Clone or Ai, than the man was just seriously sick and damn near died...Cause he doesn't look EXACTLY the same??? YOU look different after a bad cold! Smh weirdos."
In the comments of his post, many fans voiced their agreement that Jamie was not a clone.
"He almost died and y'all expect him to look exactly the same?" one wrote. Others said conspiracy theorists need to give Jamie "space and privacy" during this time.
Jamie spoke in his video about how he didn't want fans to "see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through."
"I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, [or] a television show," said the actor.
He was first seen out on a boat in Chicago, filming the Netflix film Back in Action. That's when the stunt double claims appeared, with people thinking he wasn't well enough to actually be out on a boat.
Jamie seems to be aware of these comments, saying in his video that his "eyes are working just fine" as he moved them side to side and he reassured fans he was "not paralysed."
