Liverpool midfield duo Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic have been named on the shortlist for the 2023 Golden Boy award.

The Golden Boy award is won by Europe's best youngster aged under 21 in a calendar year and began in 2003. Barcelona midfielder Gavi, who has been nominated again for this year’s shortlist, won last year’s award and past winners include Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Wayne Rooney.

England international Jude Bellingham, who joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund this summer, is a strong contender to challenge Gavi for the crown. Bayern Munich playmaker and Germany international Jamal Musiala is also among the favourites.
