The daughter of filmmaker Charlie Chaplin, Josephine Hannah Chaplin, has died aged 74.
The Chaplin's family confirmed the actress died on July 13 in Carnet Du Jour in France. A cause of death was not given.
Born in Santa Monica on March 28, 1949, Chaplin was the third of eight children of Charlie Chaplin, and the daughter of his fourth wife Oona O’Neill.
As well as being the daughter of the famous comic actor, Josephine had also made for herself in the movies too. As a child, she appeared with her father in his 1952 film Limelight and 1967’s A Countess From Hong Kong. Later on the star appeared in the 1972 drama L’odeur Des Fauves as Edith, 1972 drama film Escape to the Sun as Nina, and 1972 X-rated film The Canterbury Tales as May. Later on her life she also starred in films 1984 The Bay Boy and Hemingway.
Chaplin also managed the Chaplin office in Paris on behalf of her siblings over the years.

The pair were married for eight years before filing for divorce in 1977. She soon found new romance with French actor Maurice Ronet whom she lived with until 1983 when he died from cancer.
Chaplin later married again to second husband archeologist Jean-Claude Gardin. The couple were together from 1989 until his death in 2013.
Chaplin was also a loving mother to her three children 43-year-old actor Julien Ronet, 52-year-old Charlie Sistovaris, and Arthur Gardin.
Chaplin has always cared for her family, and even sponsored the building of a statue in her dad's honor in Waterville, Ireland, which is where the Chaplin family would often vacation together. Her famous father was an English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the era of silent film. He became well-known from his character the Tramp, and is considered to be one of the industry's most important figures.
Since the devastating news broke, tributes from fans have been pouring in on Twitter remembering the incredible life of the actress.
One fan Tweeted: "SAD FAREWELL - Josephine Chaplin The actress daughter of Charlie Chaplin and wife Oona has died at the age of 74. RIP."
The fan paired the tribute with a sweet black-and-white photo of her father Charlie giving her a kiss on the cheek and a beautiful headshot of the talented actress.
Toronto Silent Film Festival also Tweeted in memory of the famous actress: "Sad to read about the death of Josephine Chaplin, actress and 3rd child of Charlie & Oona."
Another classic movie fan account wrote: "Rest in Peace Josephine Chaplin. Actress, daughter of Charlie Chaplin and Oona O'Neil, and longtime manager of the Chaplin office in Paris."
