Jon Rahm has been showing off his talents at Royal Liverpool ahead of this week's Open Championship after landing back-to-back chip-ins during a practice round.

Rahm heads to Hoylake in the hunt for his second major title of the year, after being crowned Masters champion at Augusta in April. The Spaniard saw off competition from both Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson to secure his first-ever green jacket.

Since his victory around Augusta National, Rahm has gone through a fairly quiet run out on the course by his remarkably high standards. The world No. 3 has played just six times since his green jacket win, securing four top-20 finishes in the process, including finishing as runner-up at the Mexico Open.

The fiery Spaniard is still set to be one of the big names to beat at Hoylake this week though, as he eyes his first Open Championship victory. And Rahm has been out on the course early in the week to familiarise himself with his surroundings.

And during his practice round the two-time major champion has already left spectators in awe with his outstanding short game. Caught on camera, Rahm was seen chipping from the green-side in the pouring Merseyside rain. This did not put the Masters champion off as he holed his first attempt with ease. Rahm was in no mood to end his practice there though, as he reloaded from the exact same spot, and like clockwork holed an almost identical shot in the space of a few seconds.

The world of golf will be concentrating on the action on the course this week, after a whirlwind month off it. This comes after the PGA Tour shocked the world by signing an agreement with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF), that will see them work alongside LIV Golf

It remains to be seen what the deal means for professional golf, with the U.S. Senate currently investigating the deal. Rahm is one of many PGA Tour stars who remains in the dark in regard to the proposed merger, revealing at last month's Travelers Championship that he knows nothing about the deal.

"We don't know anything. I don't know if the people in charge know much more than we do," he said per ESPN. "There are so many unanswered questions that at this point I wouldn't want to waste time thinking about it because there is a lot of what ifs and unknowns."
