The first teaser trailer for the Mr and Mrs Smith remake starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine has been released.
Back in 2005, the Doug Liman romantic action comedy film of the same name took the entertainment world by storm with its plot of a middle-class married couple who learn that they belong to competing agencies who have assigned them to kill each other.
The roles were taken on superbly by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who fell for each other during filming and later became Hollywood's most powerful couple of the noughties.
The superstar couple, affectionately known across the world as Brangelina, were together for over a decade before the actress filed for divorce in 2016, with their bitter fall-out and custody for the six children they previously raised together dominating headlines.
Despite the unfortunate personal events that followed, it's safe to say that the movie Mr and Mrs Smith did a lot to cement their status in Hollywood.

The first teaser trailer, which was just under nine seconds, sees the pair in a series of action-packed shots before John (Donald) sarcastically tells his frustrated wife Jane (Maya), "This marriage is starting on a great foot."
An exact release date is yet to be announced, but the series will land on Prime Video in November.
It's safe to say the real-life romance history will not repeat itself with the upcoming show's leads, as Maya is loved-up with husband and fellow actor Michael Angarano and Donald is smitten with Michelle White, with whom he shares three sons.

The former couple raised their six children together until their shock split in 2016 after an 11-year romance. Angelina cited "irreconcilable differences" when she filed for divorce.
Brad and Angelina became embroiled in a bitter custody battle. The Fight Club actor won joint custody in May 2021, but the decision was later overturned.

Speaking to Time Magazine, she said it was difficult to maintain a routine for her children and make sure they could socialise during lockdown.
"COVID-19 has cut children off from their friends, their regular schooling and their freedom of movement," she told the publication.
