Mason Mount is through the door and Manchester United don't want to waste any time in making their second signing.

The Red Devils kicked off their summer transfer window on Wednesday with the hotly-anticipated acquisition of former Chelsea midfielder Mount in a deal potentially worth £60million. But now Erik ten Hag is keen to welcome new arrival No.2, which looks increasingly likely to be Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

That's because the long-serving David de Gea has become a free agent, and while United chiefs and his representatives remain in talks over a new deal, Ten Hag is being proactive by searching for a successor. Due to the club's potential Financial Fair Play troubles, however, they'll have to sell before they can buy big.

Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.

Hope emerges in Onana pursuit

Manchester United feel that a £45million (€52.5m) fee, which would include add-ons, could be enough to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan. The Red Devils have already seen their lowball offer worth £38.5m (€45m) rejected by Inter but Sky Sports report that the clubs remain dialogue.

Inter are demanding closer to £51m (€60m) for their 27-year-old goalkeeper, who only joined them last summer. Ex-Cameroon international Onana is keen on the move and a reunion with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag, who's identified his former prodigy as the ideal successor to the out-of-contract David de Gea.

Ten Hag gets ruthless

Erik ten Hag is ready to brutally sanction the departures of three first-team players this summer in order to fund further transfer moves. According to the Guardian, club captain Harry Maguire, bustling midfielder Fred and academy graduate Anthony Elanga are all on the chopping block.

The trio have each already been the subject of interest, with Elanga tipped to join German side RB Leipzig following an underwhelming campaign. £20million-rated Fred, who's entered the final 12 months of his contract, has been heavily linked with a move to Fulham, and Maguire is rumoured to be a target for both Tottenham and West Ham.

Forest lay out Henderson terms

Nottingham Forest are prepared to pay around £30million to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson on a permanent basis, the MEN claim. Henderson, 25, fully expects to leave Old Trafford this summer amid reports that club officials want to hold talks with him, as the once-capped England international may be needed during the Red Devils' pre-season tour of the United States.

If Henderson were to be sold, it's been reported elsewhere that United would be expected to provide his boyhood club, Carlisle, with a small portion of the fee, as the Cumbrians boast a sell-on clause. His largely positive loan spell with Forest was cut short last season after suffering a thigh injury in January.
