ITV’s Deal or No Deal reboot has been hit by the cost of living crisis, with cash prizes slashed.
Instead of a grand total of £250,000, now contestants can only win a high of £100,000.
The banker’s offers are also lower. A fan said: “It makes the format less interesting, there is less at stake.”
Deal or No Deal, hosted by Noel Edmonds, 74, on C4, will be fronted by Stephen Mulhern, 46, on ITV. He said he had been “practising with cereal boxes”.
Filming took place in Salford, Gtr Manchester, this week.

In 2018, viewers moaned Channel 4 ’s The Million Pound Drop was less exciting after it became The £100,000 Drop.

Comic Adam Hills said a fall in ad revenue led to four episodes of C4’s The Last Leg being cut.
The 52-year-old said: “They’re not getting the advertising revenue, because people aren’t buying. I think the cost of living thing has then stopped people.”
