Eggs are the perfect breakfast food - they're tasty, healthy, and filling - but sometimes it can be difficult to get them just perfect.

You want the yolks to be nice and soft, sometimes even slightly runny so they're perfect for dipping soldiers in, but all too often you'll accidentally overcook the egg and it'll come out feeling slightly rubbery.

But chef Gordon Ramsay has shared his top tips to ensure you get the "perfect yolk" every time, but some people aren't convinced by the method.

In a TikTok video, the chef was boiling an egg for a delicious ramen dish - but the same steps can be applied when you're cooking an egg for your morning meal.

"Get them onto a spoon and drop them into the water", Gordon said, timing six minutes to boil the eggs.

"Bring that [the water] to the boil, but don't water them ferociously, or you'll get a black line around the outside, boil them gently."

After six minutes of cooking, the TV chef took the eggs out of the pan. Then he put them into cold water, to make the peeling process easier.

But before peeling away to reveal the golden yolks, Gordon cracked the eggs gently first and placed them back in the cold water.

He explained: "Get the base and crack it, then put it into the water."

In the strangest part of the process, Gordon also blew on the bottom of the egg where it has just been cracked to make the shell "come off super quick."

After peeling the majority of the shell off his eggs, he then dipped them back in the water to remove any final "excess shell".

Then, he cut the eggs in half, explaining that your yolk "should be slightly runny in the middle."

The camera then panned onto the egg, showing that it was indeed "runny and yolky."

Some people were baffled by the method of peeling the eggs, however, sharing that they didn't want someone to blow on their food.

"I don't want a random blowing on my eggs!", someone fumed, whilst another echoed: "I swear to god if someone blows on my food."

A TikToker came to Gordon's defence, however, writing: "You guys act like he blows on eggs in his restaurants...that's not the only way to open an egg are y'all serious? He's inside his home."

"These look sooo good", someone complimented.
